Republican Academic Research and Design Institute of Rock Geology, Geomechanics, Geophysics and Mine Surveying (RANIMI), hereinafter referred to as the Institute, RANIMI, provides training of highly-qualified personnel according to the Program of training scientific, academic and teaching staff under postgraduate training program 21.06.01 “Geology, Exploration and Mining” with a degree in:

  • 00.20 “Geomechanics, Rock Breaking, Mine Aerogasdynamics and Thermophysics”
  • 00.22 “Underground, Open and Building Geotechnology”

In accordance with the Rules for admission to training programs for scientific and scientific-pedagogical staff citizens who have higher education, confirmed by a diploma or master's degree, shall be accepted in a graduate school on a competitive basis.
Foreign citizens and stateless persons shall be admitted to postgraduate study in accordance with international treaties, laws of the Donetsk People's Republic or the quota for education of foreign citizens and stateless persons established by the Council of Ministers of the Donetsk People's Republic, as well as under agreements on the provision of paid educational services at the expense of individuals and legal entities.
Post-graduate education is carried out in full-time and correspondence forms of education. The number of students for postgraduate study at the expense of the budget allocations of the national budget is established annually by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Donetsk People's Republic on the basis of the target figures for admission.
The period of postgraduate training program is set 3 (three) years (for intramural program) and 4 (four) years (for extramural program).
Applicants to research degree shall be interviewed by the reputed scientific supervisor. The results of the interview in the form of report signed by the reputed scientific supervisor shall be submitted to the graduate school when submitting documents.
For those who enter within the reference numbers of admission, as well as under contracts for the provision of paid educational services for a certain area of training, the same entrance exams are established.
Applicants to graduate school shall pass the following competitive entrance examinations (exams): special discipline corresponding to the profile of the training direction, philosophy, and one of the foreign languages (English, German, or French).
Applicants to postgraduate education shall pass the following competitive entrance examinations (exams):

  • special discipline corresponding to the profile of the training direction;
  • philosophy;
  • foreign language (English, German, or French).

Programs of entrance examinations in a special discipline, philosophy, and foreign language are made up on the basis of state educational standards of higher education under the programs of specialist's degree or master's degree.
Entrance examinations are conducted by examination committees in the form of an examination using examination cards, in Russian, with the exception of entrance examinations in a foreign language. The entrance test is documented by a report, which records the examination questions to the applicant. The Institute does not provide for conducting entrance examinations using distance learning technologies.
During the entrance tests, if necessary, special conditions can be provided for applicants with disabilities, with documented evidence of limited health or disability.
Terms of acceptance of documents for admission to graduate school and schedule of entrance examinations are established by internal local acts of RANIMI and brought to the attention of applicants.
Application for admission to graduate school together with the submission of the necessary documents shall be submitted by the applicant in person or by his/her Trustee, or shall be sent by mail. The Institute does not provide for the submission of documents required for admission in electronic form.
According to the results of competitive entrance tests to graduate school on a competitive basis the most prepared applicants for the grasping of training programs for scientific, scientific and pedagogical staff in graduate school, shall be enrolled taking into account their individual achievements.
Persons who have previously completed a full course of postgraduate study at the expense of the budget allocations of the national budget, as well as those who were sent from graduate school ahead of time for committing unlawful acts or failure to implement an individual plan, are not entitled to re-enter the postgraduate study at the expense of budget allocations of the national budget.
